Adam Ratzlaff
Specialist & Consultant in Inter-American Affairs
Adam Ratzlaff is a specialist and consultant in Inter-American affairs as well as a PhD candidate in International Relations at Florida International University. He is also a member of Diplomatic Courier’s World in 2050 Brain Trust.
With over a decade of experience conducting research on regional affairs, Ratzlaff has consulted for the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the U.S. Department of State. He has worked with various organizations on analyzing Inter-American affairs. He also regularly engages with stakeholders on Inter-American affairs in the public, private, and non-profit sector to provide policy recommendations and analysis.
Ratzlaff is the author or co-author of over 100 public-facing analyses, reports, and academic works on topics related to regional affairs. His public analyses have been featured in Diplomatic Courier, Global Americans, The National Interest, Inkstick, Responsible Statecraft, and West Point’s Modern War Institute, among other sites, while his academic work has been featured in The International Journal of Cultural Policy, Paterson Review of International Affairs, Journal of International Policy Solutions, and Tufts University’s Hemispheres. He has also authored reports for the Inter-American Development Bank, Global Americans, and the Jack D. Gordon Institute for Public Policy.
Connecting deep understanding of regional dynamics with policy and academic experience, Adam’s research has largely focused on analyses of different visions of Pan Americanism, Inter-American organizations, U.S.-Latin American foreign policy, the regional defense of democracy, inclusive development in the Americas, and Sino-Latin American relations. Ratzlaff holds an MA from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies (University of Denver) and a BA from Tulane University, where he triple-majored in International Relations, Economics, and Latin American Studies.
